Gas prices nationwide are the highest they’ve been since 2023, according to GasBuddy, as the U.S-Israel war with Iran continues to impact the flow of oil and fuel shipments through the Strait of Hormuz.
Average gas prices in Tacoma and Pierce County are up over 80 cents per gallon from last month — as of Wednesday, the average price in Tacoma is $5.06/g and the average price in Pierce County is $5.04/g, according to GasBuddy.
The nationwide average for regular gas continues to creep toward $4 a gallon; as of Wednesday, it’s at $3.86/g.
While The News Tribune reported on the cheapest places to get gas earlier this week, we’re now looking at the other end of the spectrum.
