Man, 63, dead after vehicle flips over and crashes in Pierce County

A 63-year-old man died after his vehicle flipped in a single-car crash near Clover Creek on Thursday morning.

Deputies were dispatched at 12:18 a.m. to the 10900 block of Vickery Avenue East after callers reported the crash, according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office in a Facebook post.

“Deputies arrived along with Central Pierce Fire and Rescue, and located the vehicle upside down in a ditch on the east side of the roadway,” the post said.

Firefighters extricated the man from his car, the post said. He later was pronounced dead.

The post said wet roads and speed might have caused the man to crash.
