  • Owners aim to reduce long wait times at the busy waterfront brunch spot.

Popular Gig Harbor brunch spot Devoted Kiss Café temporarily closed starting on April 1 to undergo renovations.

“We hope to be back in just one month, so follow our journey for updates and sneak peeks!” the downtown Gig Harbor restaurant posted on Facebook, saying that doors will be closed while they “expand and refresh (their) space.”

Devoted Kiss started serving customers nearly 15 years ago, co-owner Christina Dengler told The News Tribune in January. It has since grown into a bustling cafe pushing the limits of its capacity — wait times can range up to an hour and a half on busy summer days, according to Dengler. The popular sit-down spot features waterfront views and a menu of hearty breakfast and lunch items such as banana bread French toast, corned beef hash and scratch biscuits and gravy.

The restaurant is located at 8809 North Harborview Dr., Suite 203, and announced plans to expand into the space next door after Salon Riviera relocated to 32nd Avenue, close to Fred Meyer.

The remodel will nearly double the cafe’s space, bringing the total to over 3,000 square feet, The News Tribune reported.
