Patient at Western State Hospital in Lakewood escapes, considered dangerous

Clark County

A man facing criminal charges in Clark County and detained at Western State Hospital in Lakewood escaped Tuesday night, according to a Clark County Jail press release.

Joshua Dylan Rice, 45, broke out of the hospital around 8 p.m. on March 31, the release said.

He faces pending charges of first-degree robbery, first-degree assault and theft of a motor vehicle. He also has a known criminal history in Multnomah County, Oregon.

Rice should be considered dangerous due to the “violent nature” of these crimes, the release said.

He is described as white with blue eyes, approximately six feet tall and weighing about 185 pounds. He potentially has associates in the Salmon Creek area and North Bend, Oregon.

Anyone who’s seen Rice or has information about his whereabouts should call 911, the release said.
