A man was hospitalized and a westbound State Route 16 off ramp was blocked for nearly two hours Friday night after a motorcyclist collided with a sign, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The 25-year-old motorcycle driver was headed southbound on South Sprague Avenue toward SR-16 at around 9:30 p.m. when he lost control in the curve, veered left off of the roadway and hit a sign, a WSP press memo said.

Authorities transported the motorcyclist to St. Joseph Medical Center for his injuries. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

The roadway was blocked for an hour and 56 minutes, according to the press memo.
