Tacoma may have received a taste of May flowers, but now it’s back to April showers.
Dev McMillian, a forecaster for The National Weather Service’s Seattle field office, told The News Tribune it will be a cloudier weekend, a “sharp contrast” to the warmer temperatures earlier this week.
“We were about 10 degrees above average as far as high temperatures go this time of the year yesterday, and the day previously was warm as well, but today, we’re flipping the pattern,” McMillian said on April 11. “[We’re] transitioning to a cooler, more showery regime, as you may have seen so far today, and a lot of that will continue into tomorrow as we sort o freturn back to near-seasonal averages this time of year.”
Highs will be in the upper 50s on Saturday and will climb slightly into the near 60s on Sunday, McMillian said. There will be chances of showers on both days.
“As we go into Monday, honestly, much of the same – just continued showers,” McMillian said. “Most look to be in and around the Cascades, can’t rule out a stray shower… the cooler, shower regime is likely to remain as we go into the upcoming week.”
According to NWS’s website, rain is likely before 3 p.m. today, with a slight chance after 5 p.m. On Sunday, there is a 20% chance of rain before 8 p.m. There is a 40% chance of rain during the day on Monday and a 30% chance of rain on Monday night before 11 p.m.
