Lincoln Avenue Bridge to be closed Saturday, April 18.

Tacoma’s Lincoln Avenue bridge will be closed to all traffic from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m on Saturday, April 18.

The closure is the result of asphalt repairs near Stewart Street. Part of work that started on April 4, according to the city of Tacoma. The city will mark detour routes for drivers to follow.

“Travelers will need to plan their routes carefully, approaching from either Portland Avenue or Port of Tacoma Road depending on which side of the river their destination is located,” a press release from the city reads.

It’s possible that construction could be rescheduled or postponed depending on weather conditions, according to the city. Residents with questions can contact project supervisor Thomas Adams at tadams@tacoma.gov or 253-591-5870 with questions.
