Body found floating in retention pond near Port of Tacoma Road, WSP says

Detectives with the Washington State Patrol are investigating after a body was found floating in a retention pond near southbound Interstate 5 Sunday morning, a trooper said.

Detectives were called to the scene because foul play is suspected, Trooper Kameron Watts said Sunday afternoon.

About 9:15 a.m., the State Patrol received reports about the body, which was found in a pond near Port of Tacoma Road, Exit 136 off southbound I-5.

No other details were immediately available. Watts expects more information will be released on Monday.
