Fire displaces residents living in 10 Pierce County apartment units

Residents living in an apartment building in University Place were displaced after a Friday fire.

Firefighters were on scene at the 3100 block of Bridgeport Way West. Fire crews got the fire under control after an aggressive attack, according to West Pierce Fire & Rescue at 5:57 a.m.

No one was injured. Residents of 10 apartment units were displaced due to the power needing to be disconnected. The American Red Cross is assisting 21 adults and children, according to the organization in a news release.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
