Another big blue-and-white boat is at anchor in Commencement Bay. What mysterious contents could reside in a vessel of such significant stature?

Well, just like last week’s Ruby Ace, this Saturday’s spotted ship is carrying cars.

The Glovis Star is a vehicle carrier, part of South Korea’s Hyundai Motor Group, Northwest Seaport Alliance Communications Director Melanie Stambaugh Babst told The News Tribune.

The ship measures around 200 meters in length and 35 meters in width, according to the Marine Traffic website. That translates to roughly 219 yards long and 39 yards wide.

Right now the Glovis Star is waiting in line to come into the port on Monday, when it will drop off 1,300 Hyundais and Kias, Stambaugh Babst said.

Glovis ships are a common sight in Commencement Bay because the Northwest Seaport Alliance has the largest contract with Hyundai and Glovis on the West Coast, Stambaugh Babst said.
