One sent to hospital after two-car crash at busy Tacoma intersection

Police are investigating a two-car crash in Tacoma on Tuesday morning.

According to a post on X from Tacoma Fire, the crash happened at South 70th Street and South Fife Street at about 8:46 a.m.

Chelsea Shepherd, spokesperson for Tacoma Fire, told The News Tribune there were multiple people between the two cars, and firefighters were transporting one person to a hospital for minor injuries.

Shepherd said the Tacoma Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash. The News Tribune asked Shelbie Boyd, spokesperson for the Tacoma Police Department, where the investigation stands and if they know the reason behind the crash.

“Call stated that there was a 2-car roll over collision with possible injuries,” Shelbie Boyd, spokesperson for the Tacoma Police Department, wrote in an email to The News Tribune at 9:52 a.m. “Looks like we are still on scene investigating.”

In the X post, Tacoma Fire urged drivers to “use caution in the area” while they clear the scene.
