One person was transported to the hospital this morning after a vehicle collided with a school bus in Tacoma.

Shelbie Boyd, spokesperson with the Tacoma Police Department, said in an email the collision happened at about 7:25 a.m. at 5600 S. Oakes St.

The at-fault driver went to the hospital for minor injuries, Boyd said. There were five or six children on the bus at the time, and none of them were injured. The bus driver also wasn’t injured.

The News Tribune asked Boyd how the crash happened and what caused it, and she said TPD is still finding out those details.

Boyd said the at-fault driver was released and cited for driving with a suspended license, driving without insurance and failure to yield.
