Tacoma Fire

Four adults and three children have been displaced after a house fire in Tacoma on Wednesday evening.

According to an X post from Tacoma Fire, the fire happened in the 3200 block of 54th Ave NE at about 7:41 p.m.

When crews arrived on scene, they saw smoke and flames, the post said, and the fire had spread into the attic.

“Fire is currently under control,” Tacoma Fire wrote at 8:30 p.m. “Crews still putting out hot spots.”

Chelsea Shepherd, spokesperson for Tacoma Fire, told The News Tribune in a message the fire displaced four adults and three children. She said crews connected them to the American Red Cross for help finding temporary shelter.

“The fire started with an unattended barbecue, spread to the deck, and up the siding of the house to the attic,” Shepherd wrote.
