Puyallup apartment fire damages vehicles, garage units, fire officials say

Multiple vehicle and garage units in Puyallup were damaged by fire overnight Sunday, Central Pierce Fire & Rescue announced on social media.

About 2 a.m., crews were dispatched to the fire in an apartment complex in the 1700 block of East Main Avenue. Firefighters arrived to find one vehicle on fire, a second vehicle beginning to ignite and fire extending into nearby garage units, according to the social media post.

Crews stopped the fire’s spread. One vehicle was destroyed, two additional vehicles were damaged, and two garage units sustained significant damage, according to the post. No injuries were reported.

It wasn’t immediately clear how the fire started.

A total of 13 units responded, the fire department said.
