Crews put out structure fire near Puyallup

Central Pierce Fire & Rescue

Crews put out a structure fire in the South Hill area Saturday evening.

According to a post on X from Central Pierce Fire & Rescue, the fire happened in the 14100 block of Meridian Avenue East.

Crews saw “a large column of smoke” when they went on scene, the post said, and they found a detached outbuilding “fully involved in fire.

“Crews utilized a defensive strategy, attacking the fire from the exterior with handlines and aerial master streams,” the post said. “The outbuilding was destroyed, but the fire was contained and extinguished without any reported injuries.”
