Crews battle structure fire in Tacoma

Update, 3 p.m.: Three occupants are being displaced from the fire, Shepherd told The News Tribune at 2:55 p.m.

“Fire investigators are on scene now to determine the cause of the fire,” Shepherd said. “...We’ll be on scene for several hours putting out hot spots and remaining on fire watch.”

There are still no injuries, Shepherd said, but two cats remain unaccounted for.

Chelsea Shepherd, spokesperson for Tacoma Fire, told The News Tribune the call came in at about 1:53 p.m. Tuesday for a structure fire in the 2100 block of South 25th Street.

No injuries have been reported, Shepherd said, and everyone was out of the house by the time crews arrived.

“We’ve got the fire pretty much under control, but we’re still trying to tackle the rest of it,” Shepherd said.
