Crews extinguish house fire in Tacoma

Crews have put out a fire at a house in the 1100 block of East 60th Street in Tacoma.

Chelsea Shepherd, spokesperson for Tacoma Fire, told The News Tribune they got the call at 6:52 a.m.

“We had no injuries. Everyone managed to get out of the house just fine,” Shepherd said. “It may have started in the basement, but our investigators are [trying] to figure out what happened.”

Shepherd said the fire is out. Crews are on scene to watch the fire and put out any hot spots.

The News Tribune asked about the extent of the damage, how many people are living there, and if those people have been displaced. Shepherd said that information is not known at this time.
