We’re just days away from the official start of summer, and it’s going to feel like it here in western Washington.

After last week’s sweaty conditions, we’re looking at another warm start to the week.

Temperatures are set to hit 85 degrees Friday in Tacoma, according to AccuWeather. That may bring on a moderate heat risk for parts of the city, according to the National Weather Service.

Saturday is expected to be cooler, but temperatures will start to creep back up on Sunday, with highs back in the 80s, according to AccuWeather.

Things will really heat up Monday and Tuesday, with temperatures expected to reach the 90s throughout Tacoma and the South Sound.. The NWS expects a moderate heat risk to continue into Wednesday.

The heat on Monday and Tuesday is also expected to bring an increased fire risk. Grass and other vegetation along the road will be most susceptible, according to the NWS.

When it’s this hot out, the NWS recommends drinking plenty of water (and avoiding alcohol), applying sunscreen every two hours, taking regular breaks in the shade and wearing lightweight and loose-fitting clothing.
