Two people and two dogs die in Pierce County motor home fire

Two people and two dogs are dead from a fire in a motor home in Roy Friday afternoon.

Firefighters were dispatched at 2:19 p.m. to the 8700 block of 312th Street. The fire extended to some grass on farm land and a storage shed, Central Pierce Fire & Rescue District Chief Matthew Black told The News Tribune via phone call.

The fire is out, and firefighters are on scene to put out hot spots, he said.

Black could not confirm the gender of both people who died, but said they were adults.
