One hospitalized after collision involving motorcycle in Tacoma

Update, 6:15 p.m.: The crash scene is clear, and the road is open again, Boyd told The News Tribune.

The motorcyclist is still alive with non-life-threatening injuries, Boyd said.

No arrests have been made.

Original story: A motorcycle and pickup crashed on northbound Marine View Drive near the port of Tacoma on Wednesday afternoon, blocking traffic and injuring one, according to the Tacoma Police Department.

The collision was reported at 4:41 p.m. at the 1900 block of Marine View Drive, spokesperson Shelbie Boyd told The News Tribune.

The motorcyclist sustained injuries and was transported to an area hospital. The extent of the injuries were not immediately unknown.

Officers were on the scene redirecting traffic. The cause of the collision was not immediately known.
