Fire broke out in Gig Harbor home

A fire broke out in a Gig Harbor home early Thursday morning.

According to Patrick Philips, Gig Harbor Fire & Medic One spokesperson, first responders were dispatched at 4:28 a.m. to a house on 73rd Avenue Court Northwest.

Philips said the fire began in one room and extended into the attic but was quickly extinguished by firefighters.

There are no reported injuries, and the cause of the fire is under investigation by the Pierce County Fire and Prevention Bureau.
