Large brush fire threatens Frederickson warehouse

A large brush fire Friday threatened an IKEA warehouse in Frederickson before being brought under control about 4:15 p.m.

Firefighters battled the three-alarm fire in a mostly industrial area near 196th Street East in the unincorporated community near Spanaway.

Nearby houses were never in danger.

Smoke was visible for miles. Some nearby residents posted on Facebook about ash falling from the sky into their yards.

A cause has yet to be determined.
