Man dies in Northeast Tacoma single-car wreck
A man died Friday after his car left Norpoint Way Northeast and plunged about 150 feet down an embankment in Northeast Tacoma, police and firefighters reported.
The incident occurred about 6:15 p.m. at Julia’s Gulch, a green space area that overlooks the Port of Tacoma and Commencement Bay.
The cause of the wreck and the man’s identity were not immediately released. He was the sole person in his vehicle. No other cars were involved.
Tacoma police dispatched its accident-investigation team to the scene, spokesman Loretta Cool said.
