Pedestrian hit by truck in Fife

A truck hit a man crossing a road Thursday in Fife.

The 67-year-old was in a crosswalk in the 5900 block of Pacific Highway East about 12:30 p.m. when the truck made a left turn and hit him, Fife police spokesman Tom Thompson said.

Crews took him to the hospital, and his injuries did not appear to be life-threatening at the time, Thompson said.

Investigators say they think the driver had a green light and the pedestrian had a walk signal at the time of the wreck.

The driver was cooperating with police, and did not show signs of impairment, Thompson said.

Crews closed Pacific Highway East in the area as they investigated.
