Passenger killed in Milton crash identified as Tacoma woman

A woman killed Sunday in a rollover crash after the car she was in fled from police in Milton has been identified as 34-year-old Christine Pedro of Tacoma.

Pedro was a passenger in a car driven by a man who suffered serious injuries in the crash, Milton police said.

The chase began after an officer spotted the car driving erratically at about 4:45 a.m. in the 1500 block of Taylor Street.

The officer followed the car for a few blocks before it went into a ditch, rolled several times and came to a rest at 10th Avenue and Porter Way.

Pedro was thrown from the car; the driver was pinned inside for several minutes. Both were taken to a hospital, where Pedro later died.
