Kudos to Pat Erwin and his inclusion of Asian studies at Lincoln High School. Perhaps now more schools in the area will realize the importance of these programs.
Not only should we begin the study of Asian languages, but also art, music and literature. These will help the residents of Tacoma better understand those from Asian already living here and also better understand the countries we are very closely tied to in trade and culture.
