Tacoma heart walk set for Saturday

A 5K walk and run to support heart health is scheduled for Saturday in Tacoma.

The South Sound Heart and Stroke Walk will start at 9:30 a.m. at the LeMay – America's Car Museum, at 2702 E. D St. A festival will start at 8 a.m., and opening ceremonies will be at 9:10 a.m.

There will be music, activities and snacks.

The American Heart Association hosts the event, which raised more than $350,000 for cardiovascular research and other programs, organizers said.

Registration is free, but donations are accepted for the Heart Association.
