I recently suffered a medical emergency while in the checkout line at Walmart on Union Avenue.

Someone recognized I needed help and suddenly a woman came up from behind to get me on the floor. She stayed there comforting me while we waited for the paramedics.

In addition, I had my 7-year-old grandson with me. Someone appeared and stayed with him, entertaining him while the paramedics did their assessment and got me ready to go to the hospital.

There were also a couple of others who made sure everything ran smoothly.
