Sumner woman killed in wreck near Puyallup

A woman died Thursday in a car crash less than two miles from Puyallup.

Judith Klingler of Sumner was driving south on state Route 167 about 10 a.m. when she turned left near milepost 3 and hit another car, the Washington State Patrol said.

Klingler, 71, died. The other driver, a 46-year-old Gig Harbor woman, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital with minor injuries, troopers said.

Investigators determined the improper left turn and failure to yield caused the wreck.
