A man was struck and killed by a train on Union Pacific Railroad tracks in Auburn Thursday morning.
Auburn police said the engineer didn’t realize the train had struck anyone until it arrived in Tacoma and evidence of a possible crash was seen on the train. There was fog in the area at the time the man was hit.
The man, in his 40s, was later found dead at 29th and Emerald Downs Way in Auburn.
He had been walking along the tracks.
