Troopers investigate fatal I-5 wreck between semitrailer and motorcycle by JBLM main gate

One person died in a collision between a motorcycle and a semitrailer Monday on northbound Interstate 5 by the Joint Base Lewis-McChord main gate, the State Patrol said.

Trooper Guy Gill initially said the motorcyclist was taken to a hospital with serious injuries after the wreck, which happened about 4:45 p.m.

He said soon afterward that the wreck resulted in a fatality.

Lanes were closed for investigation.
