Officials identify Auburn man killed by Sounder train
A pedestrian who was hit and killed Tuesday by a Sounder commuter train near Auburn has been identified as Bradley Malone.
It remains unclear what Malone, 58, was doing on the tracks when he was struck about 6:45 a.m by a BNSF train traveling from Tacoma to Seattle.
The accident temporarily halted freight and passenger trains just north of Auburn.
Malone’s death was the 26th train-related fatality in the state this year, BNSF spokesman Guy Melonas said. That’s the highest number of fatal train accidents in the last two decades.
