Work begins Monday to repair the Pierce County ferry landing on Anderson Island.
Crews will repair the landing at times that aren’t expected to disrupt sailing hours. Work will begin at 9:15 p.m. and is scheduled to finish at 5:45 a.m. Tuesday.
If work is not completed in time, the 5:45 a.m. ferry run from Steilacoom may be canceled. A rider alert will be sent to registered users if that happens; sign up for the alert at piercecountywa.org/ferry.
Work will continue the rest of the week during the same overnight hours — 9:15 p.m. to 5:45 a.m. — until the repairs are finished.

The repairs are being made to the loading ramp and the piles that guide ferries into the dock when they pull into the landing. Pierce County road funds totaling $136,800 will pay for the work.
