Pierce County ferry rates will go up across the board for passenger and vehicles, except for youth walk-on riders, starting Jan. 1.
The county operates a ferry run between Ketron and Anderson islands and the town of Steilacoom.
Walk-on passenger fares for adults 19 years old and older will go to $5.45 from $5.30, rates for senior or disabled passengers will increase to $2.70 from $2.65, and a five-trip value pass will increase to $21.80 from $21.20.
The youth fare (ages 6 to 18) will decrease to $3.25 from $3.40 . Children under 6 years old remain free.
Vehicle rates for cars up to 21 feet long will increase during the nonpeak season (Oct. 1-April 30) to $18.35 from $17.80 and to $23.85 from $22.30 during peak season (May 1-Sept. 30). Additional fare increases are also applied to other categories of vehicles based on length.
A five-trip value pass for cars up to 21 feet long will increase to $73.40 from $71.20 and the five-trip motorcycle value pass will increase to $39.70 from $38.30.
Unused tickets purchased in 2015 are valid through Feb. 15. Value passes purchased in 2015 are valid until the expiration date printed on the ticket.
Refunds on unused 2015 tickets must be requested by Feb. 28, 2016. Refund forms can be found at piercecountywa.org/ferryfeedback.
All fares are round-trip and collected at the Steilacoom terminal. There is no monthly or annual ferry pass available.
