Fire damages Midland church
A Midland church canceled its food bank Sunday due to an early morning fire that gutted its building.
Firefighters arrived at the Community Christian Assembly shortly after 2 a.m. at 10401 19th Ave. Ct. E., in response to a two-alarm commercial fire.
The fire started on the exterior of the church and spread to the eaves and attic.
But that didn’t stop the church from hosting a service at 10:30 a.m. in a secondary building.
Pierce County fire officials determined the fire was accidental.
