Fire damages former Lakewood school

A building that used to house two former Lakewood schools caught fire early Monday, according to West Pierce Fire & Rescue.

Crews responded about 12:45 a.m. to the blaze at 8800 121st Street Southwest, which is slated for demolition.

The facility used to be Harrison Preparatory School. Before that, it was Lake City Elementary.

A cause has not been determined.
