Burn ban canceled in Pierce County
A burn ban for Pierce County was lifted Monday.
The Puget Sound Clean Air Agency canceled the ban about 9:45 a.m., a day after lowering it from a Stage 2 burn ban to a Stage 1.
The agency called for a Stage 2 burn ban Friday as temperatures dropped, air pollution lingered and more people used wood-burning fireplaces. Officials removed the ban after conditions improved.
There are currently no burn bans in place in Washington state.
