Pierce County Sheriff Paul Pastor announces bid for re-election
Pierce County Sheriff Paul Pastor announced Wednesday that he plans to run for re-election this year.
“The Sheriff's Department has built a strong record of accomplishments in the last several years in the face of very difficult circumstances,” Pastor said in a statement. “We are values-led. We have demonstrated effectiveness and cost-efficiency.”
In the campaign announcement, Pastor listed several goals he wishes to achieve if he earns another term.
He said he plans to focus on enhancing trust and cooperation, inviting the community to be more aware of and involved in public safety issues, and building the department's capacity to deliver more service.
Pastor was appointed sheriff in 2001 before the position became an elected one. He won his first election in 2008.
