Tacoma apartment fire caused by food on stove
A fire that seriously damaged three apartments at a Tacoma complex Tuesday was caused by unattended food cooking on the stove, according to the Fire Department.
No one was hurt in the fire. One person was rescued with a ladder from an upstairs unit.
Crews were called about 6:45 p.m. to Lakeside Landing, 7004 S. 12th St. They had the blaze under control by 7:30 p.m.
Investigators said the fire started in an apartment on the ground floor and flames traveled quickly to the floors above.
