Friday is deadline for mail, online voter registration for primary
Washington state residents who aren’t registered to vote but want to participate in the Aug. 2 primary have until 5 p.m. Friday (July 1) to register by mail or online.
After that, people may register at their county elections office anytime before July 25.
Election officials will mail primary ballots to registered voters on July 15.
The 2016 primary marks the ninth year in which the voter-approved Top 2 Primary system is being used to winnow the number of candidates in races. This year’s primary features a U.S. Senate race and 10 congressional races, as well as statewide and legislative seats, and judicial and county positions.
