Tree-lighting ceremony Saturday will close roads in Gig Harbor

Due to construction at Skansie Park, Saturday’s (Dec. 3) annual city Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony and visit from Santa will take place at Donkey Creek Park.

North Harborview Drive and Austin Street will be closed from 3 to 9 p.m. Traffic will be detoured via Burnham Drive.

The tree-lighting event will feature entertainment and refreshments. Santa is scheduled to arrive on a fire truck at 5:30 p.m.
