Silverdale teen killed in crash near Poulsbo

A Silverdale teenager was killed last week in a collision south of Poulsbo, the Kitsap County Sheriff’s office reported Tuesday.

Neveah Nicole Hawkins, 18, died Saturday after being airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

A 20-year-old man who was a passenger in her car suffered serious injuries.

Deputies said the accident occurred about 11:39 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8, when the Chevrolet Malibu the young woman was driving made a left turn from Northwest Closser Drive into the path of an oncoming pickup truck on Clear Creek Road Northwest. The truck struck the car on the driver’s side.

The driver of the truck, a 51-year-old Central Kitsap man, was not seriously injured.
