Police Blotter: A chain saw unchained, and a co-worker with deep apron pockets

Cut the chain to get the saw

Nov. 4 – A man’s chain saw was stolen from the back of his truck after a suspect used bolt cutters to cut through a chain attaching the chain saw to the vehicle.

Police were dispatched at 1:39 p.m. to the 4700 block of Point Fosdick Drive where the man noticed his 28-inch chain saw was missing.

Co-worker is suspect

Nov. 3 – A store employee noticed $420 was missing from her purse, located in an employee-only area.

Police were dispatched at 3 p.m. to the 5500 block of Olympic Drive. The woman told officers she suspected a male co-worker who came into the room saying he wanted to check the schedule. The male’s cash register was missing $300 a few days before her money went missing, she said.

Police talked to the co-worker, who said he came back to the store because he wanted to check his apron in case the $300 had fallen “accidentally” into the pockets.

The investigation was inconclusive.
