No fires, but accidents kept Gig Harbor medics busy with bandages

Dec. 27: Car into a gate — Just after 1:30 p.m., Gig Harbor Fire & Medic One was dispatched to the 5800 block of Sehmel Drive for a vehicle off the road into a fence. Crews arrived to find the vehicle with moderate damage into a security gate with the driver still behind the wheel. The driver was extricated, assessed, and transported to the hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

Dec. 30: Rear-ender — A motor vehicle accident was reported around 6 a.m. at the intersection of East Bay Drive and Murphy Drive. Firefighters and medics arrived at the scene of a partially blocking, two car rear-end type collision with minor damage to both vehicles. One driver was transported for further evaluation and treatment.

Jan. 1: Fender-bender — Firefighters and medics responded around 5:00pm to the report of a blocking motor vehicle accident on State Route 16 near Pioneer Street. Vehicles were moved off the road. No patients required transport.
