Police blotter: Couple having spat reversed their car right into the cop behind them
He still needs a ride
Jan. 10 – A woman was leaving her apartment to pick her boyfriend up from work when she realized her vehicle was missing.
Police were dispatched at 11:56 p.m. to the 5900 block of Soundview Drive where the woman informed officers that she heard voices outside of her apartment, but thought nothing of them.
The officer checked the parking lot for evidence, and the vehicle was entered into the police database of stolen vehicles.
That’s reverse, not park
Jan. 12 – While an officer was speaking to a couple who were arguing on the side of the road, the woman attempted to move the gear shift into the park position, but accidentally put it in reverse. The car began to slowly roll backwards, so the officer got in his police car and put it behind the moving vehicle to prevent it from rolling off the roadway.
Police were dispatched at 1:16 a.m. to the 11500 block of Canterwood Boulevard after a hospital called to report the couple fighting. The man was said to have placed a gun to his wife’s head and the wife jumped out of the vehicle. It was later discovered that this story was not true.
The man was irritated with the allegation, even more so after the woman accidentally backed into the police vehicle. The officers provided gas for their vehicle and asked the man to keep calm and not argue as they drove home. He agreed and said he would sleep it off.
