Police blotter: The driver was so drunk, he fell out of the car; and the teen with an evil twin
Stumbling drunk
March 21 – At 1 a.m. a vehicle was pulled over eastbound on Peacock Hill Drive for reckless driving. The officer detected a strong odor of alcohol when the driver rolled down his window. The driver said he did not drink.
When the officer asked the driver to exit the vehicle to do a sobriety test, the driver opened the door and stumbled out, trying to use the car door to hold himself up, before ultimately falling onto the ground. The officer helped him up, then conducted the test, which the driver failed.
The man was arrested for a DUI.
It was my twin brother
March 21 – After an officer pulled over a teenager who was suspected of stealing beer at a store, the teenager denied stealing the beer, saying he had an identical twin brother.
Police were dispatched at 8:04 p.m. to the 4800 block of Point Fosdick Drive after a call from a store manager. The teen eventually admitted to stealing the two beers, planning to bring them to a friend’s house.
The teenager’s parents were contacted and the store manager did not press criminal charges, but did ask that the teenager be barred from the store. The officer informed the teenager that he cannot enter this store or the parking lot for one year. The parents arrived on scene and took custody of their son.
