Police Blotter: Damage to a fence and a break-in at Gig Harbor HS
High School burglary
March 29 – A track coach at Gig Harbor High School called police to report a burglary at the high school’s track shed.
Police were dispatched at 1:00 p.m. to the 5100 block of Rosedale Street where the track coach noticed a door handle was angled out, and unlocked. It appeared that the handle was pried open.
A box of new hand tools were stolen, along with a small Honda 2000 generator. A small package of combination locks and a wheelbarrow were stolen from the shed.
There was no video surveillance.
...and a damaged gate
April 1 – A Gig Harbor High School maintenance supervisor reported to police that someone damaged a cyclone fence gate adjacent to the baseball diamond at the high school.
Police were dispatched at 11:20 a.m. to the 5100 block of Rosedale Street where the gate appeared to have been run into by a vehicle, and the metal post was partially unearthed. Damages to the gate are approximately $1,000.
It is unknown at this time if these two cases are related.
