Gig Harbor has been ranked one of the friendliest towns in America. Here’s why
Trips to Discover recently updated its list of The Top 16 Friendliest Towns in America for 2022, and Gig Harbor made the cut.
Trips to Discover is a digital travel magazine with a monthly readership of over 1.6 million people. It helps readers discover their next travel destination, providing tools, tips and facts about destinations all over the world.
A few other towns that made the list are Bend, Oregon; Key West, Florida; Savannah, Georgia; and Sedona, Arizona
After researching, reading reviews and examining places from personal experience, K.C. Dermody, free lance travel writer, named Gig Harbor to the list. The cities are not ranked in any order.
Dermody used to live on the Olympic Peninsula and is familiar with Gig Harbor.
“I have lived in a lot of places around the country, and I tried to go by personal experience as much as possible when I created the list,” Dermody told the Gateway.
“I have been to Gig Harbor so many times and the people are always so friendly. It’s beautiful and makes for great pictures,” Dermody said.
“Gig Harbor locals are incredibly friendly. There’s a deep sense of community, a place where people often strike up conversations in line at the grocery store and help their neighbors out,” according to Trips To Discover website.
The list of The Top 16 Friendliest Towns in America gets updated every few years.
