Gig Harbor drivers: Be ready for detours. These road closures are coming next weekend

After two summers without the Maritime Gig Festival, it returns June 4 and 5.

City officials advised residents and commuters who expect to pass through Gig Harbor next weekend to plan for road closures around the festival, parade and fun run.

The city’s social media post said closures from 5 a.m. Saturday, June 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 5 will include:

  • Harborview Drive from Rosedale Street to 3026 Harborview Dr. (at the Tickled Pink store)
  • Pioneer Way from Tarabochia Street to Harborview Drive

The post said closures for the parade and fun run from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 4 will include:

  • North Harborview Drive from Peacock Hill to Harborview Drive

  • North Harborview Drive from Harborview Drive to Burnham Drive

  • Harborview Drive from Burnham Drive to Soundview Drive

  • Soundview Drive from Harborview Drive to Judson Street

  • Judson Street from Soundview Drive to Pioneer Way

Signs will guide drivers to detours, the post said.
