What’s that new concrete building along SR 16 in Gig Harbor? Here are the plans so far

Drivers may have noticed a new concrete building going up along state Route 16 in Gig Harbor.

Bujacich Industrial Park and Storage at 5117 89th St. is under construction with an unknown completion date.

The concrete building is located on the northwest corner of the intersection of Bujacich Road and 89th Street and is under construction to become a 13,039 sqaure foot warehouse building containing 8,840 square feet of warehouse space and 4,199 square feet of office space, known as a flex space, according to city documents.

The project application process started in February of 2018 and construction permits were approved in October 2021.

Owners want this space to be for manufacturing, city documents state. The application says a typical tenant might include a cabinet shop, metal fabrication shop, or a flooring contractor shop.

The property will also include onsite parking and landscaping, a septic system, stormwater detention facility, and frontage improvements along Bujacich Road, Carl de Simas, principal planner for City of Gig Harbor told The Gateway.
